Happy National Ice Cream Sandwich Day!!! Yes! Another ice cream day!!!! God I love it! Okay. Ice cream sandwiches, classic. I don’t know about you guys, but I loved whenever we had ice cream sandwiches as kids. But, do you remember when they actually used to be a good size? Not this slimmed down things we have today. I remember that these sandwiches used to be easily twice the size it is today. And not because I was younger and had smaller hands. Like they legit used to be big.
Ice cream sandwiches are said to have originated in New York City by a food pushcart peddler in 1899 and sold for 1 cent. It was ice cream slabbed in between two wafers and it was a huge hit because it was an alternative way to eat ice cream with your hands.
However, the possibilities with how creative you want to make your ice cream sandwiches are really endless. Today, other than the classic chocolate cake wafers that we are used to, chocolate chip cookies are used or others.
Now the really fun part… recipes!!! Hell yeah! Thanks Pinterest…
